Brighton Station Walk-In Centre
The Walk-In Centre (WIC) at Brighton Station Health Centre is open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm, to support patients who need urgent, same-day care for non-life-threatening issues. A nurse-led service, the WIC is a convenient option for patients who require medical attention without waiting for an appointment or visiting A&E.
The WIC team can assist with a range of issues, including:
- Minor illnesses such as sore throats, ear and throat infections
- Acute asthma and respiratory illnesses
- Minor skin complaints and rashes
- Minor injuries, including sprains, cuts, and bruises
- Urinary infections, thrush and menstrual problems
- Minor eye problems, conjunctivitis, styes
- Minor burns and scalds
- Stomach problems, indigestion, constipation, diarrhoea and vomiting
Wait times
The average wait time is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours —much shorter than typical emergency department waits for non-critical issues. In December, 96% patients were seen under two hours when visiting the WIC.
